Aiyedatiwa’s govt charts growth path through regional integration, diaspora engagement

The Ondo State Government, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, continues to chart a bold course towards sustainable development by prioritizing Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations as a strategic pathway for growth.

In a fast-globalizing world, no state can thrive in isolation. Recognizing this, the Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, led by Hon. Commissioner Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, is spearheading initiatives that position Ondo State as a hub for regional cooperation, cross-border partnerships, and diaspora-driven investment.

Speaking to stakeholders in Akure on the focus of the Ministry, Akinlosotu emphasized that:
“The strength of Ondo State lies not only within our borders but also in the wealth of experience, resources, and expertise of our diaspora community spread across the globe. By bridging borders and building sustainable partnerships, we are creating opportunities that will transform our economy and improve the lives of our people.”

1. Economic Integration: Building strong partnerships with neighboring states, regional blocs, and global institutions to attract trade and investment.
2. Diaspora Engagement: Creating structured platforms for Ondo indigenes abroad to contribute to the state’s development through investment, knowledge transfer, and philanthropy.
3. Security of Investments: Working with security agencies to protect diaspora investments and ensure a safe business environment in line with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s OUR EASE Agenda.
4. Cultural Diplomacy: Showcasing Ondo State’s rich heritage as a tool for global recognition and economic benefits.
