Akinlosotu congratulates Gov Aiyedatiwa on revalidation of Ondo deep sea port licence

….. Says project will boost regional integration and diaspora investments

The Ondo State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on the successful revalidation of the licence for the Ondo Deep Sea Port by the Federal Government, describing the development as a monumental step toward economic transformation and global relevance for the Sunshine State.

Speaking in Akure, Akinlosotu said the revalidation represents another testament to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to driving landmark infrastructure capable of repositioning Ondo State as a premier hub for international trade and maritime commerce.

He noted that the port’s 18-metre natural draught and capacity to berth larger vessels would give Ondo a competitive advantage in the maritime industry, eliminating trans-shipment and creating a direct pathway for global shipping operations.

Akinlosotu further emphasized that beyond its economic benefits, the project aligns strongly with the state’s agenda for regional integration, as it will enhance cross-border trade and strengthen economic linkages with neighbouring states and West African coastal markets.

“As Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, I am excited about the vast opportunities this port offers for Diaspora investments, export expansion, logistics partnerships, and job creation,” Akinlosotu stated.

He added that the project is expected to attract Ondo’s Diaspora community, many of whom are seeking viable platforms to invest in blue-economy ventures, agro-processing, maritime services and industrial clusters.

Describing the Governor’s achievement as historic, Akinlosotu praised Governor Aiyedatiwa’s relentless pursuit of projects that guarantee long-term prosperity for the state and its people.

“This revalidated licence is not just a document,” he said. “It is a turning point. It signifies a future where Ondo State becomes a global trading hub, a magnet for Diaspora capital, and a catalyst for regional economic integration.”

He assured that his office remains committed to complementing the Governor’s vision by mobilizing Diaspora stakeholders and fostering regional partnerships to maximize the full potential of the port.

Akinlosotu concluded by congratulating Governor Aiyedatiwa once again, affirming that Ondo is on the path to unprecedented growth under his purposeful leadership.
