A coalition of influential groups and community stakeholders have thrown their weight behind Hon. Maureen Chika Ashara (popularly known as Ugosimba), endorsing her re-election as the Executive Vice Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos State, under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In separate letters addressed to the APC leadership, various bodies including the Igbo Stakeholders United Forum, Ohanaeze Ndigbo (Amuwo Odofin Chapter), Ndi Igbo in APC (Authentic, Amuwo Odofin Chapter), and the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Joseph’s Palace, praised Ashara’s sterling leadership, inclusive governance, and grassroots mobilization capabilities.

The Igbo Stakeholders United Forum, led by its National President, Prince Nixon Ndubuisi Okwara, and National Secretary, Mr. Daniel Ezeanochie, described Hon. Ashara as “a woman of proven integrity and a unifying voice within the Igbo community in Lagos.”

They urged the party to consider her re-nomination as Vice Chairman, citing her capacity to inspire trust and strengthen the APC’s grassroots appeal.

Similarly, the Amuwo Odofin chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in a letter signed by Chairman Chief Chikwado Lawrence Ezenaura and other executives, strongly endorsed Ashara for a second tenure.

They credited her first term with promoting harmony between indigenous communities and the Igbo population in Amuwo Odofin, reinforcing the APC’s message of unity in diversity.

Echoing this support, the leadership of Ndi Igbo in APC (Authentic), in their endorsement, called Ashara a “bridge-builder and strong advocate for all residents,” highlighting her dedication to equitable governance and loyalty to the APC.

They noted that her re-election would energize the Igbo community and enhance the party’s chances of victory in upcoming elections.

Adding a spiritual affirmation, RCCG Joseph’s Palace, under the leadership of Pastor Onyinye Odiaka, also commended Ashara’s character, calling her a woman of “integrity, diligence, and godliness.”

The church stated its confidence in her ability to continue serving with excellence and uphold the values of good governance.

As momentum gathers around her candidacy, Hon. Maureen Chika Ashara’s endorsement by these major cultural, political, and religious bodies marks a strong signal of her popularity and credibility within the Amuwo Odofin political landscape.
