ANCOPSS President hails smooth take-off of new school session

The resumption of schools for the new academic session in Ondo State has been described as smooth and encouraging.

Principal of Ijapo High School, Akure, Dr. (Mrs.) Jomgbodo, who also serves as President of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ondo State branch, expressed satisfaction with the turnout of students and the immediate commencement of classes.

She commended parents for ensuring early resumption, stressing that teaching and learning had begun in earnest and that her school was fully prepared for a productive academic year.

The ANCOPSS President noted that new intakes had been formally welcomed and charged to remain disciplined, obey school rules, and strive for excellence.

She urged teachers across the state to sustain the momentum by maintaining high standards of teaching and discipline, while also calling on parents to provide necessary support and learning materials for their children.

Dr. Jomgbodo also clarified that public secondary schools in Ondo State are only permitted to collect levies approved by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.

She appealed to journalists to help enlighten the public on this policy and uphold professional ethics by verifying information before dissemination to ensure accuracy.
