Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation, Hon. Oyinkansola Aroloye, has congratulated Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, his deputy, Dr. Olaide Adelami (mni), party leaders, and residents of the state on the Supreme Court verdict that affirmed the governor’s election.
Speaking with journalists in Akure, the state capital, Aroloye described the judgment as the final endorsement of the mandate freely given to the governor and his party at the November 2024 governorship poll.
She commended the judiciary, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies for their roles during the legal tussle, noting that the decision of the apex court had strengthened the confidence of the people in the electoral process.
According to her, the Supreme Court on Wednesday struck out the petitions filed by three opposition parties challenging Aiyedatiwa’s victory. The lead petitioner, Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had earlier withdrawn his case, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Allied People’s Movement (APM) also lost their appeals.
Aroloye urged the opposition parties to accept the verdict and work with the governor in his efforts to reposition critical sectors and boost the state’s economy.
