Bolanle Olajide ‘Onimalu’ Honoured as Ondo State Grassroots Mobilizer at Topshot Hall of Fame

Prince Bolanle Olajide Michael, widely known as Onimalu, was honoured at the 2025 Topshot Hall of Fame Awards as Ondo State Grassroots Mobilizer of the Year, in recognition of his outstanding influence in community engagement, political awareness, and grassroots advocacy across the state.

A prominent figure in local political mobilisation, Prince Olajide Michael has over the years earned a reputation for bridging the gap between the government and the people, driving participation in civic processes, and ensuring that the voices of underserved communities are heard.

The award, presented during a colourful ceremony held at the Topshot Hall in Akure, celebrated his deep-rooted commitment to grassroots development and his role as a strategic mobilizer who inspires collective action at the community level.

Receiving the award to a warm ovation, Prince Michael ably represented expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organisers for the honour, describing it as a validation of his lifelong passion for community service. “This recognition is not just for me, but for every foot soldier working daily to connect the people with opportunities,” he said. “It’s a call to continue in service, integrity, and commitment to our people.”

The event attracted high-level attendees from across the state, including government officials, traditional leaders, private sector stakeholders, and civic influencers.

Other awardees included Hon. Francis Belonwu, Special Assistant to the Governor on Igbo Matters (Central), who received the Beacon of Hope Award; Dr. Toyin Adeyalo, immediate past President of Rotary Club of Akure Metro, honoured with the Golden Service Award; and AMB. Anu Ijiti, Adaja of Isinkan, recognised for Exemplary Community Leadership.

A keynote lecture was delivered by urban development specialist Dr. Gbolabo Osunsanmi FNITP, titled “Retrospective Perspective on Leadership, Governance and Development in Ondo State,” offering insights into the evolving leadership landscape of the state.

Chairing the occasion, Dr. Rhoda Makinde applauded the organisers of Topshot News for spotlighting individuals whose works often go unnoticed but remain crucial to societal progress.
