Bunu receives AMATO, NARTO, MWUN executives on courtesy visit

The President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, recently received executives from the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), and MWUN at the union’s national secretariat in Osho Drive, Olodi-Apapa.

The visit, which marked the first official courtesy call since Comrade Bunu assumed office as President-General, was a show of solidarity and support from the leadership of the tripartite haulage collaboration.

The visiting executives congratulated Comrade Bunu on his well-deserved election and expressed optimism that his tenure would bring peace, unity, and progress to the union and the maritime sector at large.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted several challenges facing haulage operations across the nation’s seaports.

They appealed to the President-General to lend his vast experience and leadership to strengthening the collaboration and improving operational efficiency, coordination, and output across the sector.

In his response, Comrade Bunu, a seasoned maritime expert, sailor, and trained business administrator, assured the delegation of his unwavering support.

He pledged to work closely with all stakeholders to reposition the haulage sector for greater productivity and sustainable growth.

He also expressed appreciation to the silo cargo truck owners who were part of the visit, assuring them of MWUN’s full support in their activities across the country.

The meeting concluded with a warm exchange of pleasantries among the tripartite executives and the national leadership of MWUN, symbolizing a renewed spirit of collaboration and unity.
