Court of Appeal Victory: Agric Commissioner felicitates Gov Aiyedatiwa, DGov Adelami

… hails judiciary for upholding people’s will

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry in Ondo State, Engr Olaleye Akinola, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and his Deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, on their resounding victory at the Court of Appeal, affirming their election as the duly elected Governor and Deputy Governor of the State.

Engr Akinola, in a statement made available to the press, described the Court of Appeal victory as victory to the entire people of Ondo state and a significant victory for democracy, adding that the triumph at the Court of Appeal was a testament to the people’s mandate and the strength of the mandate unanimously given to them by the people of Ondo State.

Reacting to the judgement delivered by the Court of Appealing sitting in Akure on Thursday, 31 July 2025, Engr Akinola, who described the judgement as ‘a mandate renewed’, expressed his confidence that the verdict would enable Governor Aiyedatiwa to focus on delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Ondo State and that it would boost the efforts of this administration in driving development, stability and good governance in the state.

He said, “It underscores the trust and confidence the good people of Ondo State have placed in you to lead and serve them. As the Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, I am proud to be part of your team and to contribute to the realisation of your vision for the state.

“Your leadership has been characterised by a commitment to excellence, a passion for service, and a dedication to the welfare of the people of Ondo State. Your victory is not just a personal achievement but a reflection of the hopes and aspirations of our great state. It is a validation of your tireless efforts to promote development, unity, and progress in Ondo State.”

While assuring the governor of his unwavering support and commitment to working tirelessly to ensure that policies and programmes of this administration are implemented effectively, to the benefit of all Ondo people, the commissioner, who commended the governor for his initiatives in the agric sector, said, “In the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, we are committed to driving meaningful development and improving the lives of the people of Ondo State.

By working in tandem with your administration’s transformative agenda and programmes, we are focused on driving initiatives that will boost agricultural productivity, enhance food security, and promote sustainable forestry practices.

“We are confident that our efforts will contribute to the overall development of the state and improve the lives of our citizens.”

Meanwhile, Engr Akinola has also commended the judiciary for the landmark judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal which dismissed the appeals filed by the opposition parties and upheld the election victory of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his Deputy, Dr Adelami, as the duly elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Ondo State, saying that the judgement has renewed the trust of people in the Nigeria’s judiciary system and democracy.

The Agric Commissioner said, “This judgement is a testament to the strength and commitment of the judiciary to upholding the rule of law and the will of the people.”
