Eji-Oba High School Old Students set to celebrate 50 years anniversary

The 1976/1981 set of Eji-Oba High School, Oba-Ile in Akure North local government area of the State has expressed its readiness to hold 50 years anniversary of graduation.

The President of the association, Mr Emmanuel Adejuyigbe made this revelation during a retreat of the association on Saturday.

He noted that the purpose of holding the retreat is to fast track through preparation for their 50 years anniversary in 2026 and to put the association in proper perspective.

He noted that as the President of the association, he has been able to bring members who are far away together.

“Today, we’ve been able to channel a new course by setting up a committee to visit our Alma Mata to see what we can do, as a way of giving back. Next year, God willing, something will be put in place”.

He urged other old students who still haven’t joined the association to do so and not just stand as a spectators, as the association is already a moving train and is unstoppable.

The Iyaloja of Oba-Ile and President, Iyalaje, Iyaloja in Akure North local government, Chief Mrs Bosede Abidakun, described the association as a united group of people with the same ideology.

She added that others in diaspora are also contributing to the development of the association which shows the level of their oneness and cooperation.

Mr Franklin Akinbobuyi, a member from the United States of America stated that his members are great people who are willing to serve. He urged them to make themselves available stressing that nobody is indispensable. “Let us make ourselves available so that we can help ourselves. It’s not about us again now, It’s about our legacy, our children, the people who live behind. 

 
“We should be shining examples to people coming behind us. I want to encourage all of us to please show up whenever there is an opportunity for us to help others”, he concluded.
