Gov Aiyedatiwa inaugurates UNIMED visitation panel

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Monday, inaugurated the visitation panel for University of Medical Sciences, Ondo.
According to the Governor, the visitation panel should be a regular activity for any tertiary institution at the end of an era.
“The visitation panel should be an evaluation of all that has transpired within that institution. For a new VC to take over, the visitor to the university should know the level of compliance and the state of the university in terms of finance and financial management, infrastructure, staff and others and to know the actual position of the university, for the government to know how it will come in”.

The Governor, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving tertiary education, urged the panel to carry out its assignment diligently, providing recommendations that would help shape the university’s future and address any existing challenges.
The Governor appreciated the members for accepting to perform the task, expressing his confidence in the panel’s work.
“You have been carefully chosen and I believe that you have started work immediately your names were released”.
In his reaction, the Chairman of the panel, Prof. Gbenga Olumekun described their selection as a way of giving back to the State, pledging that the panel would so its best to see that all is done in the interest of the state.
“We will try to execute our duty within the stipulated time given to us. We’ve already started work and we won’t relent”.
The inauguration which took place at the Governor’s office, Alagbaka, Akure had in attendance; The Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, Attorney General and Commisoner for justice, Dr Olukayode Ajulo, Commisoner for finance, Mrs Omowunmi Isaac, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Prof Simidele Odimayo, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Special Services, Mr Adeyemi Adeyemo, Director, School Services, Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Dr Akindele Ige.
