Gov Aiyedatiwa lauds Federal lawmaker, Adefarati over constituents’ empowerment

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has commended the Member representing Akoko Southeast Southwest Federal constituency, Hon. Adegboyega Adefarati for empowering his constituents.

Speaking at the official flag off of empowerment of five hundred Artisans and distribution of one hundred thousand excercise books to the pupils of the Constituency, Governor Aiyedatiwa noted that the initiative of the lawmaker demonstrates a deep understanding of the needs of the community. “It is a testament to the power of public service and the positive impact that dedicated leaders can have on the lives of their constituents”.

He noted that the grants being distributed will not only support local entrepreneurship but also stimulate economic growth, create jobs and enhance the livelihoods of our artisans and also, exercise books would equally provide the pupils with some of the necessary tools to succeed academically and reach their full potential.

The Governor urged the artisans who benefited from the empowerment program to utilize the grant to expand their business and the students to make the most of the exercise books and strive for academic excellence.

“This initiatives accord with our development agenda in the Sunshine State. We have also concluded plans to provide micro credit loans to artisans in the State. The loans would be disbursed very soon by the Ondo State Micro-credit Agency.

“Similarly, we granted scholarship, bursary and financial assistance to students of Ondo State origin in tertiary institutions across Nigeria. By the same token, we are forging ahead with the process of employing two thousand teachers to both public primary and secondary schools in the State”.

Speaking on the area of security, the Governor said “we shall continue to strengthen our home-grown Amotekun Corps and other security agencies for optimal delivery on protection of lives and property”.

“The State Government had also approved N2billion to support agriculture in the State with a view to encouraging farmers and ensuring food security. We will continue to pursue policies and programmes that would make life easier and more meaningful to our people”.

Earlier in his address, Member representing South East/ Akoko Southwest Federal constituency, Hon. Adegboyega Adefarati, noted that Akoko Southeast/ Southwest voted him in, hence, they must not be neglected.

According to him, five hundred Artisans benefited from the empowerment program, and also, one hundred thousand excercise books were to be distributed to the pupils of Akoko Southeast/Southwest constituency.

While appreciating the people for their support since he assumed office, Adefarati pledged that his constituents will continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

Adefarati highlighted his own contributions to the constituency, including empowerment programs, infrastructure improvements, and initiatives aimed at enhancing education, water supply, and economic support for residents.

He urged the constituents to continue to support the Aiyedatiwa led administration and also, come out en masse to vote for him at the November 16 gubernatorial election.

In his goodwill message, the former Deputy Governor of Ond State, Alhaji Ali Olanusi commended the lawmaker for having his people in mind. He encouraged the constituents to continue to support Adefarati and they will continue to enjoy what they deserve.

Also speaking, The State Chairman of APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin lauded Adefarati, adding that he is following his late father’s steps. He also urged him to continue to do more for his people.

The Alale of Akungba, Oba Sunday Isaac Adeyeye appreciated the lawmaker’s efforts in the development of Akoko Southeast/Southwest, adding that his achievements since he assumed office are laudable.

State Chairman of Artisan who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Artisan matters, Hon. Daisi Komolafe.

The event held at OBJ hall, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, had in attendance,; Former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, State Chairman of APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, Former Speaker, Ondo State Hous of Assembly and Chairman, Ondo SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, Traditional rulers, among other eminent personalities.
