Gov. Aiyedatiwa pays last respect to Late Gen. Arogbofa

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Friday, attended the final burial ceremony of Late General Jones Oladehinde Arogbofa (Rtd.)

Governor Aiyedatiwa, while paying tributes to the Late General, described him as a great man who had lived an impactful life, stressing that he deserved to be celebrated.

He encouraged his family members that they should take solace in God and shouldn’t mourn, he added that God is there for them, He is the father of all.

Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated the deceased children because they have survived their father, stressing that he had given them the support they needed when he was alive.

The Governor concluded that Late Arogbofa lived a life worthy of emulation and was loved by all.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, afterwards, paid a condolence visit to Basorun Seinde Arogbofa, the elder brother of the deceased and a leader in Afenifere group, where he prayed to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who was represented by Senator Ayim Pius Ayim, described Late Arogbofa as a patriot, a father and a friend. He added that the nation will deeply feel the loss. “We should console ourselves with the legacies he left behind. Late General Arogbofa came, saw and conquered”.

The Coordinator of Okarufe cultural foundation, Chief Akinrogun Alaba Yusuf described Late General Arogbofa as his mentor, a gentle giant, a selfless person, a wealthy person ho chases after humanity, charity.

The Director, Media and Corporate Communications of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and a prominent son of Oka Akoko, Dr. Felix Ale said that Late Arogbofa served his nation diligently and displayed high level of patriotism. He added that during his life time, Arogbofa contributed greatly to the development of his community and would be greatly missed.

Speaking on behalf of the family,
Mr. Tunde Arogbofa extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their presence and support during this period of loss. He emphasized that the family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and assistance received since the passing of their loved one, acknowledging the significance of each gesture.

Late General Jones Oladehinde Arogbofa who passed on at the age of 73 had served the nation in different capacities, he was a former Chief of Staff to the former president of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The event held at African Church Grammar School field, Oka Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of the State was attended by The Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, traditional rulers, political leaders, among other eminent personalities.
