Gov Aiyedatiwa reaffirms commitment to education, human capital devt

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to education and human capital development.

He made this emphasis while playing host to the committee on Tertiary institutions on Ondo State, in his office on Tuesday.

The Governor described learning as the foundation of sustainable progress—placing it at the heart of his government’s “Our Ease” agenda.

He emphasized that the future of the state depends on a joint effort by families, institutions, and government to raise well-rounded, educated citizens, pledging support for programs that strengthen educational outcomes at all levels.

He noted that the state government will continue to champion education-focused policies and collaborations that align with its development priorities. While highlighting recent fiscal reforms by President Tinubu and improved resource management, he reiterated that education remains one of the most strategic investments the state can make for long-term transformation.

Speaking on the invitation to a colloquium by the committee, he lauded the initiative led by the Vice Chancellor of FUTA, Professor Adenike Oladiji, as timely and necessary.

Earlier, the Chairman, Committee of Tertiary institutions, Prof. Tomola Obamuyi appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for unwavering support for education and development in the State. “Your steadfast commitment to advancing education perfectly aligns with our collective vision of building a knowledge-driven Ondo State”.

He also commended the Governor’s remarkable achievement in reducing the state’s domestic debt by 82.6% within just one year, describing it as a testament to his fiscal responsibility and strategic governance that positions the State for sustainable growth.

The committee invited the Governor as Chief Host to a colloquium, initiated by the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof Adenike Oladiji, describing it as a paradigm shift in how institutions approach collective challenges and opportunities.

He stressed that this pioneering effort brings together 13 tertiary institutions to foster partnerships, inspire innovation, and promote educational excellence.

In attendance were; Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa.
