Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising the development of infrastructure in the State.

Speaking at the commissioning of the rehabilitated Gbangbalogun axis road on Friday held opposite Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, the Governor Stated that the project represents a critical, strategic intervention within Akure’s vital urban road network.According to him, the Gbangbalogun Axis, an essential arterial linking Irowo Road to the high-traffic Arakale – Oke-Aro – Idanre Road, has, for a considerable period, been a significant point of vehicular distress and severe structural compromise.
“This project is a direct manifestation of our Administration’s developmental policy thrust “OUR EASE” agenda, prioritising the development of infrastructure that directly enhances public welfare and amplifies economic efficiency.
“By providing a structurally superior and adequately drained road, we directly facilitate smoother logistics for commerce, substantially reduce vehicle maintenance costs for our hardworking commuters. This road will also significantly improve access to key business districts and residential areas within Akure, particularly for the residents of Irowo and those connecting to the Idanre axis.
“The rehabilitation of the Gbangbalogun Axis is a forward-thinking strategic move. We are aware that the work on the broader Arakale – Oke-Aro – Idanre Road has commenced with the clearing of a section of the axis, following its recent flag-off.
“Our timely intervention here ensures that as this larger, vital artery is developed, this critical Gbangbalogun link will be in optimal operational shape. This proactive measure will guarantee seamless vehicular movement and efficient traffic distribution within this entire precincts, preventing new bottlenecks from emerging as the major arteries improve. This holistic planning underscores our commitment to integrated urban development.
“The successful and timely execution of this project is a resounding testament to the unwavering dedication of our technical teams, the meticulous oversight of our supervising consultants and the commendable efficiency of the contracting firm”.

“Their strict adherence to precise engineering specifications, rigorous quality control protocols and efficient project timelines has been exemplary, ensuring a high-quality infrastructural asset delivered well within the stipulated timeframe”.
The Governor appreciated the local communities and all road users along the Gbangbalogun axis for their extraordinary patience and invaluable cooperation throughout the construction phase. “We acknowledge the temporary inconveniences that are an inherent, though necessary, component of major civil engineering works. Your understanding and resilience were instrumental in enabling our teams to operate efficiently and complete this project to the most exacting standards”.
He noted the rehabilitated road is far more than a mere segment of pavement, it is a powerful catalyst for localized economic growth. “Improved accessibility will profoundly reduce travel times, enhance market access for agricultural produce and commercial goods and robustly stimulate local businesses operating along its corridor. This strategic infrastructural upgrade is designed to unlock new opportunities and foster a more dynamic, resilient urban economy in Akure”, he concluded.
Earlier in his address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye stated that the total length of the rehabilitated road is 7 kilometres.
He noted that there are more works ongoing within Akure South like Isikan, Oshinle, Kingsley Kuku Avenue, Kajola, leading to Ijoka, among others. Urging the contractors to speed up their works and complete in due time.
In his goodwill message, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi appreciated the Governor for his commitment to infrastructural development, saying that Akure has witnessed a lot a developmental changes since he assumed office.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Akure South Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Fasua said that Akure now has the beauty of a State capital, stressing that the Governor has really touched Akure in a grandstyle.

Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Head of service, Mr Bayo Philip, traditional rulers.
