Ondo State Governor has commended Agape Christian Ministries for its spiritual and societal impact, describing the church as a blessing to the state in the last 37 years.

Speaking on Sunday at the thanksgiving service marking the end of the 37th Annual Convention of the ministry in Akure, the Governor lauded the vision and commitment of its founder, Bishop Felix Remi Adejumo, and his wife, Lady Bishop Funke Adejumo, for their leadership and devotion to God’s work.

He noted that the church’s prayers and support have contributed to peace, progress, and development in the state. “Agape Church has been a blessing to our State, and we are grateful to Almighty God for the vision and calling of the founder,” he said.

Highlighting the significance of gratitude, he praised the resilience and unity of the church in overcoming challenges over nearly four decades. He also expressed appreciation to all clergy in the state for their prayers and support for his administration, which he said have illuminated the path to development.

The Governor emphasised the role of religious harmony in the success of his “OUR EASE” development agenda, calling on religious leaders to continue promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual respect. He assured residents of his administration’s readiness to deliver on campaign promises, focusing on energy, potable water, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and security.

Reaffirming his economic vision, the Governor disclosed the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with a consortium to establish a 500,000-capacity refinery in the state, aimed at reducing unemployment and boosting industrial growth.

He urged citizens to continue praying for peace and prosperity in the state, adding, “With God on our side, the time of ease of our people has come.”

While congratulating Agape Christian Ministries on the anniversary, he prayed for continued unity, progress, and contributions to the development of the state.

Earlier in his words, the founder, Agape Christian Ministry, Bishop Felix Adejumo, drew inspiration from 2 Chronicles 1:1, highlighting the significance of divine wisdom and strength in leadership. He emphasized that just as King Solomon’s reign was established through God’s favor, every individual and institution seeking lasting impact must anchor their pursuits in God’s guidance and grace.

In his homily titled “Father indeed”, Pastor Oluwasesan Alabi from Ekiti region, spoke from John 15:11-15, described a father as a leading figure, someone who pinoeers, someone who is compassionate.

According to him, a true father is a leader who provides direction, a pioneer who charts new paths for others to follow, and a compassionate soul who shoulders the burdens of those under his care. He further likened a father to a “wordsmith,” one who carefully chooses his words to instruct, inspire, and correct without breaking the spirit of those he guides.

Citing Bishop Felix Adejumo as a living example, Pastor Alabi noted that the bishop’s decades of ministry, unwavering commitment to raising leaders, and deep compassion for people embody the very qualities of a “father indeed.”

He commended Bishop Adejumo’s ability to use words as tools for transformation, guiding countless individuals into their God-given purpose and leaving an indelible mark on both his spiritual children and the wider community.

In attendance were; Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice, Dr Olukayode Ajulo, members of the State Executive Council, Political Appointees, Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, represented by Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, Traditional rulers, among other eminent personalities.
