Late Oluwatuyi laid to rest amidst tears, praises

The remains of the Late Secretary to the State Government, Hon Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi has been laid to rest amidst tears and praises.

Speaking at the outing and thanksgiving service held at Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Akure, Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa noted that death is an inevitable part of life, a transition that everyone must face, and yet, it is a mystery that anyone can hardly comprehend.

The Governor described him as a shining star in the political firmament of Ondo State, whose dedication to service was unwavering.
“His commitment to humanity and grassroots politics was inspiring, earning him the love and respect of his people. As a compassionate community leader, he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him, he left an indelible mark on the State’s development and a legacy worthy of emulation.
“
As Governor, I had the privilege of working closely with Hon. Oluwatuyi. We shared a bond of friendship and mutual respect and I can attest to his exceptional leadership qualities and wealth of experience.
“His passing leaves a gaping hole in our midst, and we can only take solace in the exemplary life he lived. As we gather to celebrate his legacy, we remember his unwavering commitment to the development of Ondo State”.
The Governor recalled Oluwatuyi’s tireless efforts in promoting the interests of our great State, his wisdom and his ability to bring people together. “He was a true leader, and his contributions to our State’s growth and development would never be forgotten”.
He assured the friends and the family of Late Temitayo Oluwatuyi and the people of Ondo State that his administration shall honour his legacies by its resolve to continue to provide good governance and always serve the interest of the people at all times.
Earlier in his homily titled “prepare to meet your appointment with your maker,” the CAC President Worldwide, Pastor Henry Ojo, emphasized the inevitability of death as a transition everyone must face.
Speaking from Hebrews 9:27, which states, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment,” Pastor Ojo emphasised that death is the inevitable vehicle that transports every human—rich or poor, regardless of status, race, or background—to their final appointment with God. He stressed that no one can evade this divine appointment, making it crucial to live a life aligned with God’s will.
He urged attendees to emulate the late Oluwatuyi’s commitment to public service, generosity and contributions to the work of God.
On behalf of the family, Yetunde Haastrup, daughter of the deceased, expressed gratitude to the Ondo State Government and all well-wishers for their support during this critical time.
Late Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi who died at 63 was survived by his love wife, children and grandchildren.
After the service, guests proceeded to a grand reception at the International Event Centre, The Dome, in Akure.
The event had in attendance top government officials and political figures, including the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, along with other lawmakers; Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Ondo APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin; Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Ayo Olawande; Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola; former APC gubernatorial candidate, Chief Olusola Oke; and Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Prof. Abeebat Omolara Adubiaro, among others.
