MARAN commends appointment of Comptroller Onyeka as acting CAC, Tin-can Island Port

The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has lauded the appointment and decoration of Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka as the Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Tin-can Island Port Customs Command, describing it as a fitting recognition of his exemplary career achievements.
Comptroller Onyeka was officially decorated with his new rank at the Nigeria Customs Service headquarters on Wednesday by the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.
In a congratulatory letter dated January 13, 2025, and signed by MARAN President Godfrey Bivbere, the association praised Onyeka’s promotion, acknowledging his professional accomplishments, dedication, and leadership qualities. MARAN expressed full confidence in his ability to excel in his new role and pledged its support for his administration.
The letter highlighted Onyeka’s academic credentials, which include a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. These qualifications, coupled with his extensive experience, are expected to enhance his capacity to lead the Tin-can Island Port Customs Command effectively.
MARAN also commended Onyeka’s intellectual brilliance, exceptional leadership, and unwavering work ethic, expressing optimism that these qualities will propel the command toward greater success in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.
Reflecting on his previous roles, MARAN acknowledged Onyeka’s notable contributions as Officer-in-Charge at the Premier Port Gate and the Onne Port Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT) Gate. In these positions, he achieved significant improvements in revenue collection, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The association expressed confidence that Onyeka will build on these successes to further enhance the operations of the Tin-can Island Port Customs Command.
MARAN reaffirmed its support for the newly appointed CAC, pledging collaboration with his leadership to achieve greater milestones in trade facilitation and customs administration.
