Nigeria at 65: Queen Lynda Omosehin to roll out empowerment scheme in Okitipupa

As the country marks its 65th Independence anniversary, Her Royal Highness, Queen Lynda Isika Omosehin, Yeye Lisa of Osooro Kingdom, has reiterated her resolve to promote grassroots empowerment and community development.

The monarch will this week introduce a women and girls empowerment programme in Okitipupa, Ondo State, in partnership with Bimbeads Concepts. The project is designed to provide practical training in jewelry production, open up access to markets, and offer mentorship to support small-scale enterprises.

Queen Lynda, who has been consistent in promoting education and entrepreneurship, has also made notable contributions through platforms such as the Ondo Emerging Leaders Conference. She has often stressed that empowerment should be rooted in building capacity rather than short-term handouts.

Speaking on the significance of the Independence celebration, she said:

“As we celebrate Nigeria at 65, we must renew our faith in this nation and in ourselves. When you empower one woman, you empower an entire family, and by extension, a community. This is how we build stronger communities and, ultimately, a stronger Nigeria.”

She explained that the initiative reflects her wider vision for entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and sustainable development across Okitipupa and Irele Federal Constituency.

The Yeye Lisa of Osooro Kingdom emphasized that patriotism is best shown through service, insisting that true progress comes from giving people the tools to succeed.
