Nominees pledge commitment to development as Ondo Assembly ends second screening phase

The second phase of the screening exercise for commissioner-nominees in lpOndo State has ended, with all nominees assuring the House of Assembly of their readiness to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s development agenda and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the state.

Nominees from diverse professional backgrounds appeared before the Committee of the Whole, pledging to align with the administration’s development agenda and deliver meaningful results if confirmed.

Dr. Banji Ajaka, a returning nominee and former Commissioner, addressed the pressing issues in the health sector. He acknowledged systemic challenges but assured lawmakers of his readiness to implement strategic reforms.

“Ondo State’s healthcare sector reflects global challenges,” he said. “Our focus will be on strengthening human resources, improving drug availability, and enhancing infrastructure.”

Economist and political actor, Pastor Bola Ademuwagun, commended the Assembly for a rigorous and engaging session. He promised to bring his expertise to bear in any assigned portfolio.

“It was a thorough session. The lawmakers asked intelligent questions. With my background, I’m confident I can make a difference,” he said.

Adesoji Afolabi, another nominee, described the screening as detailed and transparent, highlighting his alignment with the governor’s EASE Agenda.

“I’m fully prepared to contribute. The verification process was meticulous, and I’m ready to play my part in the administration,” he stated.

Business analyst and project manager, Akinola Emmanuel Olaleye, also praised the Assembly’s professionalism.

“They focused on how I could help improve lives in the state. Wherever I’m posted, I’ll give my best,” he affirmed.

With the second phase now complete, the House is expected to move on to the final stage of the process—confirmation of the nominees.
