Acting Chairman of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS), Mr. Bayo Rojugbokan, has assured that the agency will continue to strengthen its operations in partnership with the House of Assembly to boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
Rojugbokan gave the assurance while receiving members of the Assembly’s Committee on Finance and Appropriation, led by its Chairman, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, during a familiarisation visit to the agency’s headquarters in Akure.
He commended the lawmakers for their support and oversight, describing their visit as a boost to the service’s determination to expand revenue streams.
“We are grateful for the cordial relationship with the House. Your support further strengthens our determination to expand the state’s internally generated revenue in a transparent and accountable manner,” he said.
The lawmakers, in turn, praised ODIRS for its role in sustaining the state’s economy.
Ogunmolasuyi noted: “As an arm of government, our role is to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement. We recognise the critical role ODIRS plays in sustaining development and we are committed to partnering with you.”
However, ODIRS Deputy Director, Human Resources, Alhaja Jemilat Yusuf, extolled the lawmakers for visiting ODIRS, assuring that the agency is ready to live up to its expectations.
Joining the Acting Chairman in receiving the delegation were key management members of ODIRS, Deputy Director, Legal, Barr. Bayo Ogunsuyi; Assistant Director, Personal Income Tax, Mr. Stephen Eniafe; Assistant Director, MDAs, Mr. Williams Olofinlaye; Assistant Director, Admin, Mr. Ayodeji Makinwa; Assistant Director, Tax Audit Service, Mr. Mustakeem Adebote; and Deputy Director, Consumption Tax, Stamp Duty and Capital Gain Tax, Mrs. Esther Ajilore.
