The Ondo State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to economic development by seeking stronger collaboration with the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), urging both local and international investors to tap into the vast opportunities available in the state.

This was the focus of a familiarisation visit by the House Committee on Culture, Tourism, Investment, Corporate Services, and Special Duties to ONDIPA’s headquarters in Akure.

Speaking during the visit, the Committee Chairperson, Hon. Princess Olawumi Fayemi-Obayelu, emphasized the state’s rich economic potential, citing its strategic location, abundance of natural and mineral resources, and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s development-focused governance as key drivers of growth.

She encouraged investors to take advantage of the state’s peaceful environment and business-friendly policies, assuring them of government support for sustainable business operations.

Hon. Obayelu also commended ONDIPA for its efforts in attracting investors and reiterated the legislature’s resolve to provide effective oversight and policy backing that would support the agency’s mandate and economic vision.

Other committee members—Honourables Stephen Abitogun, Olatunji Ifabiyi, and Messiah Allen—pledged continued legislative support to help the agency overcome challenges and achieve greater success. They also stressed the importance of regular legislative involvement in ONDIPA’s initiatives.

Responding, the Administrative Secretary of ONDIPA, Mr. Omomowo Emmanuel, appreciated the lawmakers for their visit and assured them of the agency’s continued dedication to facilitating investments and partnerships that drive sustainable development.

Also speaking, the Director of Business Development, Mr. Femi Akarakiri, highlighted some of ONDIPA’s landmark achievements, including progress on the Port of Ondo, the Red Gold Project, and the signing of key memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with major investors.
