The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State is confident of repeating the success it achieved in the November 16 governorship election during the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for January 18, 2025.
Hon. Pius Idowu Adebusuyi, Director-General of the Chairmanship Election Campaign Committee, expressed this optimism while formally presenting Hon. Dipo Ajibola as the APC chairmanship candidate, alongside Hon. Abidat Ijimakinwa as the vice-chairmanship candidate.
Ten Councillorship candidates for the ten wards in Ifedore were also introduced during the campaign rally.
Speaking to party members during the campaign, which covered all three zones of Ifedore (Ijare, Ilara, and Igbara Oke), Hon. Adebusuyi stated that the APC had met all the requirements outlined by the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).
He further assured that all APC candidates in Ifedore are highly sellable and well-received by the community.
Currently serving as Commissioner 1 in the Ondo State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Adebusuyi expressed confidence that the APC’s solid track record, under the leadership of Governor Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, would result in another sweeping victory for the party.
He believed the people of Ifedore will overwhelmingly vote for APC candidates across all positions in the upcoming local government election.
Hon. Adebusuyi, a former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly and past chairman of Ifedore Local Government, also reiterated the importance of holding full local government elections rather than relying on caretaker committees.
He urged ODIEC to conduct the elections across all 18 local governments in the state, emphasizing that the people deserve elected representatives at the grassroots level.
The campaign has already started at the ward and unit levels, with extensive outreach efforts to engage with stakeholders across all ten wards in Ifedore.
In a similar vein, Hon. Barr. Collins Awoseye, secretary of the campaign committee, assured that the committee had been structured at all levels—local government, ward, and unit—to begin sensitizing and mobilizing the electorate ahead of the election.
Awoseye, who also serves as the transition committee secretary for Ifedore Central, expressed confidence that the APC would repeat its resounding victory from the governorship election, in which the party triumphed across all 18 local government areas of the state.
Awoseye confirmed that a total of 13 political parties will participate in the upcoming local government election, according to ODIEC.
Hon. Dipo Ajibola, the APC chairmanship candidate for Ifedore, urged all communities in the local government area to rally behind him and his vice-chairmanship candidate, Hon. Abidat Ijimakinwa, in the January 18 election.
He highlighted the importance of collective action and called for the active participation of Ifedore’s residents to ensure a brighter future for the local government.
Ajibola promised that his administration would focus on uniting communities and driving meaningful progress and development if elected.
In her remarks, Hon. Abidat Ijimakinwa, the vice-chairmanship candidate, underscored the significance of community involvement in shaping local governance.
She encouraged the people of Ifedore to actively participate in the forthcoming election to advance the collective aspirations of the community.
With strong backing from the APC leadership, the Ifedore Local Government campaign is poised for a successful outcome on January 18, 2025.
