Ondo govt, Czech Republic to partner for sustainable devt

In a strategic diplomatic engagement aimed at enhancing economic growth, technological transfer, and international cooperation, Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to partner with global investors and entrepreneurs, particularly the Czech Republic, to unlock the state’s vast economic potential.
He made this made this known while recieving the Ambassador of Czech Republic, Krejci Zdenek in his office on Monday.
The Governor also vowed that his administration shall continue to provide an enabling environment for investors to come around to do their businesses.
He said “We have to govern to provide the political environment stable, economic environment to be very conducive and enterprising enough for the people to operate, provide a legal system that supports businesses, the ecological environment also to be safe, to avoid flood or flooding by making it safe by constructing drainage and all that so that we don’t experience floods and people can go about their businesses.

All of these we put in place, the environment to just be conducive for everybody. And then also we protect our forests, even though we’ve just declassified about a thousand hectares for agri and agribusinesses. We’re a leading producer of cocoa in Nigeria.
“Our arms are open to embrace new investors. We’ll continue to do what we can do for our people.
He also mentioned the marine and blue economy, waiting for investors. “A couple of investors are talking to us already, but we’re still open to whoever comes in first and have a better deal for us”.
He opined that the State we’ll be ready, fully ready to partner with them anytime, any day.
Earlier, the Ambassador of Czech Republic, Krejci Zdenek noted that Czech Republic is a country with a very old industrial tradition from the end of the 19th century, very strong in machinery, including machinery for agriculture.
He expressed optimism about the prospects of cooperation with Ondo State, stressing that the Czech Republic is eager to contribute to Nigeria’s development by offering expertise in areas such as modern agricultural machinery, construction technologies, and renewable energy solutions.
He added that Ondo State stands out due to its natural resources, governance structure, and evident political will. “We believe a strategic alliance with Ondo State will yield mutual benefits and contribute meaningfully to your developmental agenda,” the Ambassador said”.
Also speaking, Mr. Adewale Adekunbi, a member of the Czech delegation, emphasized that the partnership aims not only to boost economic activity but also to address poverty and unemployment through the application of advanced technology and skills transfer.

Emmanuel Omomowo, Business Manager, ONDIPA, Mr Femi Akarakiri.
