Ondo North leaders lauds Gov Aiyedatiwa, urge fairness, security boost

Leaders from the Northern Senatorial District of the State have commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his early strides in infrastructure and governance.
The leaders gave this commendation during a courtesy visit to the Governor, led by Senator Bode Olajumoke, on Tuesday.
Olajumoke hailed the Governor’s performance so far, urging him to prioritize equitable distribution of development across the three senatorial districts and intensify efforts to tackle rising insecurity in the north.

The former Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District of the State encouraged the Governor to be cautious in selecting the remaining members of his cabinet, emphasizing the need for competence and fairness.
He also called for an equitable distribution of democratic dividends across all three senatorial districts, regardless of political affiliations or voting patterns during the election.
Speaking on insecurity, Senator Olajumoke advised the government to consider acquiring more sophisticated equipment as well as deploying technology to enhance the performance of the Amotekun Corps. This is in addition to recruiting more personnel to ensure more boots on the ground.

He added that consequently, if Government proposes a Security Trust Fund, through an Executive Bill, the ultimate outcome will bring about a more effective coordination, synergy and improved funding for internal security in the State.
He stressed that if the pervasive insecurity is reduced to the barest minimum, it will have a salutary effect on the safety and security of the citizens as well as their economic prosperity. It will ameliorate the current prohibitive cest of living. In particular, food inflation will be substantially turned as food production will increase when farmers have unrestricted access to their farms as they will be able to produce enough for local consumption and even export to earn hard currency.
He commend the lofty initiative of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in sponsoring rehabilitation of farming roads to create easy access for farmers to bring their produce to markets in the city. He appreciated member representing Owo/Ose Federal constituency, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe for his good representation.
He appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for the proposed conversion of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic to University of Agriculture and pray for your tangible action of time table in this regard.
Reacting, Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated the delegation, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, noting that 115 military personnel are being deployed to the Akoko axis to tackle insecurity.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also emphasized that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority for his government.
He assured citizens of even development across all local government areas.
The Governor expressed willingness to consider the proposed security trust fund and announced plans to bolster the Amotekun Corps with more personnel. He praised the efforts of member representing Owo/Ose Federal constituency, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, and encouraged other lawmakers to emulate his dedication.
Highlighting the importance of traditional institutions, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured that royal fathers would always be carried along in his administration, acknowledging their pivotal role in grassroots mobilization.
He promised that the crisis in Akungba and Idogun would be given the attention they deserve.
