By Precious Oluwole

Persons with disabilities across the State has advocated for more employment opportunities into the civil service.

The State Chairman of Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, Mrs Folasade Arise made this request during a visit to Governor Aiyedatiwa in his office on Tuesday.

According to her, many disabled people in Ondo State have pursued education independently due to parent abandonment and have now become graduates.

She added that some of these individuals could be absorbed into the public or civil service of Ondo State instead of languishing on the street despite their qualifications, stressing that in 2020, Late Governor Akeredolu employed more than 35 people with disabilities.

Governor Aiyedatiwa in his reaction expressed his administration’s commitment to increasing the employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities within the State’s civil service.

Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the solidarity and condolences extended by persons with disabilities following the passing of former Governor Akeredolu.
