Six APC aspirants collapse structures for Akogun Omole ahead of Ondo Assembly primary

In a landmark move set to reshape the political landscape of Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, six prominent House of Assembly aspirants within the All Progressives Congress (APC) have officially collapsed their structures to endorse Hon. Akogun Olugbenga Omole as the consensus candidate for Akoko Southwest Constituency 1 ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The strategic realignment was announced during a unified declaration attended by key party stakeholders, community elders, the Local Government Party Chairman, Hon.Sunday Agbede Ajulu and including all Ward Chairmen and Councillors in the Constituency and a significant gathering of enthusiastic supporters.

The six aspirants, representing a broad cross-section of the constituency, cited the need for party cohesion and the “greater good” of the district as the primary drivers behind their decision.

The leaders moving to support Hon. Omole include: Prince Gbenga Osewa (Ward 1), Murphy Adamolekun Omoluabi (Ward 7), Dr. Niyi Leramo (Ward 6), Gbenga Enyadunmo (Ward 7), Prince Adeniyi Osewa (Ward 1), and
Donald Ologbese (Ward 8),

Putting People Above Ambition
In a joint statement, the former aspirants emphasized that their withdrawal from the race was a sacrifice made to ensure a formidable and undivided front for the APC.

“Akoko Southwest Constituency 1 is bigger than any individual ambition,” the group declared. “We have chosen to put the people first. Today, we declare our full loyalty to the ISE OLUWA LEKAN SI MOVEMENT and formally endorse Hon. Akogun Olugbenga Omole as our consensus flag bearer for the Ondo State House of Assembly (ODHA) in 2027.”

Akogun Olugbenga Omole has paid his dues in this party,he has developed a whole lot of Party Members and we believe in his capacity to represent this Constituency adequately.

The move has been hailed by party elders as a masterstroke in political diplomacy. Local leaders praised the six aspirants as “true progressives,” noting that such selflessness strengthens the APC’s position and minimizes internal friction ahead of the primary season.

By consolidating these six distinct political machineries into one, the Akogun Olugbenga Omole campaign gains significant momentum, signaling a consolidated path forward for the constituency’s representation in the State House of Assembly.

Six aspirants for the Ondo State House of Assembly seat in Akoko South West Constituency One, under the platform of the APC, have stepped down from the race and declared support for Olugbenga Omole.

The aspirants, Prince Gbenga Osewa, Murphy Adamolekun Omoluabi, Dr. Niyi Leramo, Gbenga Enyadunmo, Prince Adeniyi Osewa and Donald Ologbese also collapsed their political structures for Omole.

They said their decision followed the directive of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and was taken in the overall interest of party unity and electoral success.

They noted that stepping down was a sacrifice made to strengthen the party, expressing confidence that Omole has the capacity to represent the constituency effectively.

They promised to work collectively to mobilise support for the party’s candidate.

Olugbenga Omole appreciated the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of maturity, loyalty and commitment to the progress of the party.

He pledged to carry all stakeholders along, promising inclusive leadership and effective representation if given the mandate.

Omole also assured the aspirants and party faithful that their contributions will not be overlooked.

Meanwhile, Chairman of APC in Akoko South West Local Government, Sunday Ajulu, commended the aspirants for their decision.

He described it as a step that will further strengthen unity within the party ahead of the elections.

Other leaders at the event, spoke highly of the Characters of Akogun Omole as a forthright person who always says the truth no matter whose ox is gored.
