We must remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting good governance – Ondo Assembly Speaker

The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji has urged other Lawmakers to remain steadfast in their commitment to promoting good governance, ensuring social justice and fostering economic, growth.
The speaker gave this charge while welcoming the lawmakers back from the 6 weeks working recess.
He said “We must always remember the immense responsibility we hold as a Representative of the people and the compelling duty we have to serve our great state, it is crucial that we prioritize the needs of our constituents.
“Our decision should be guided by a deep understanding of the issues at hand and genuine desire to improve the lives of those we represent. While the Executive arm of government is engaging the citizen and trying to work out strategies to tackle the hardship in the state, our legislative actions must therefore be dedicated by a clear robust vision and aim at support the state Executive in restoring our citizens on the path of prosperity.
“We must deploy our legislative instruments to ensure that our people enjoy the dividend of democracy.
“Honourable colleagues let us approach this new season with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication let us work tirelessly towards building a better future for our people guided by the principles of justice, equality and progress”.
The speaker also set up two ad-hoc committees on OSOPADEC and health. The commitees will be headed by Hon. Allen Messiah, representing Ese-Odo constituency and Hon. Chris Ogunlana respectively.
According to the Speaker, the committee will be saddled with the responsibility of ministries and the MDA’s pending when the statutory standing committees will be reconstituted.
