Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has congratulated Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Adha, urging them to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, tolerance and love.
In a goodwill message to commemorate the Islamic festival, the governor described Eid-el-Adha as a season that reflects the unwavering faith, obedience and submission of Prophet Ibrahim to the will of Allah.
Aiyedatiwa said the celebration serves as a reminder for people to demonstrate charity, compassion and peaceful coexistence, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
“Eid-el-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith, obedience, and willingness to submit to the will of Allah. It is a season that calls us to embody the virtues of sacrifice, charity, tolerance, and love for one another,” he said.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting peace, unity and religious harmony across Ondo State, while calling on Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for the peace and progress of the state and the country.
He also encouraged residents to extend support to the less privileged during the festive period.
Aiyedatiwa further advised citizens to celebrate responsibly, observe safety precautions and sustain the peaceful atmosphere for which Ondo State is known.
The governor prayed for Allah’s acceptance of the prayers and sacrifices of the Muslim faithful and wished them abundant blessings, good health and prosperity.
“Eid Mubarak! Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum,” he concluded
