By Tolulope Eniola

The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, has called on citizens to embrace love, unity and shared responsibility as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir and children mark this year’s Children’s Day.

In a goodwill message personally signed by the Speaker, he described the coincidence of the two celebrations as symbolic, noting that both occasions emphasise sacrifice, compassion and the collective duty to build a better future for society.

The Speaker urged Muslim faithful to sustain the virtues of discipline, tolerance and generosity beyond the festive period, while encouraging them to continue living peacefully with others and supporting the less privileged in society.

According to him, the season offers an opportunity for sober reflection and gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings.

“This period offers an opportunity for deep reflection and gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings. I encourage all Muslims to extend kindness to the less privileged and foster the spirit of generosity that will uplift our communities,” he said.

While celebrating children across the state, Oladiji described them as the hope and future of society, urging them to remain focused and committed to achieving their dreams.

He also charged parents, guardians and other stakeholders to prioritise the welfare of children through proper guidance, quality education and sound moral upbringing.

The Speaker further expressed appreciation to Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his continued commitment to policies and programmes aimed at promoting child development in the state.

Oladiji congratulated Muslim faithful and children on the celebrations and wished them a joyful and memorable occasion.
