Lion Falusi: We will soon Invite you again to witness the completion of our service projects

The 38th President of Akure-Owena Lions Club, Lion ( Otunba) Akinola Falusi, NLCF, has assured guests at his Public Presentation that he will extend invitations to them during the delivery of service projects on which the club sought their financial support.

Appreciating the eminent personalities at the well-attended Public Presentation and Investiture, Lion Falusi said needs assesments were done with realistic costing on the projects before the Board of Directors approved that #57Million be launched through public Fund Raising.

He outlined the projects to include: “Reconstruction of the Clinic building at the school for the Visually Impaired Akure; Provision of school uniforms, sandals, socks and instructional materials for about 1,800 students; Eye tests and donation of Eyeglasses to 1000 indigent persons with sight disability; Campaign on Diabetes; Feeding the hunger at the Ago Ireti Leprosarium in Akure; Tree planting campaigns and Enlightenment campaign against Cultism and Drug Abuse”.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Public Presentation Committee who is the 1st Vice President, Lion (Prof) Ayokanmi Dada, NLCF, stated that Akure-Owena Lions Club is a humanitarian service organization operating under the auspices of its parent body, Lions Clubs International.

“Our thematic focus include: disaster relief, vision-related causes, diabetes, hunger relief, youth programmes, and environmental projects.

Membership of the Lions Club is open to individuals who are committed to community service and acquisition of leadership skills.

We therefore wholeheartedly invite you all our guests here today to join us in making the world liveable and enjoyable for all, particularly the underprivileged persons in our communities.”, he stated.

Chairman of the ceremony, Prince Bolarinwa Aidi, SAN, the Lions Club International has long been known for its community-focused initiatives and this event was no different.

“From healthcare projects to educational programmes, the club has played vital roles in enhancing the quality of life in Akure-Owena Lions Club mandate community”, he said.

Several eminent leaders within the Lions Club led by the District Governor for District 404-A4, Nigeria, Lion (Prince) Osadembawen Monday Okoro, PMJF, NCF, the Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development, Lion Dr Ayodele Olawande represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Engagement; Immediate past District Governor, Dr. Kofoworola Jegede, PMJF, NLCF and her spouse PCC Olumuyiwa Jegede, PMJF, NLCF; Past District Governor, Adekunle Adedipe, PMJF, NLCF; CEO, De Javu Hotel and Suites, Lion Olatunji Jubreel, MJF, NLCF and former Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Lion (Dr ) Adewale Omirin, NLCF.

District Officers on the entourage of the District Governor include: the Cabinet Secretary, Dr Bala Anegbe and the Chief of Staff , Sir Charles Osagie, PMJF, NLCF; Region Chairperson for Region 3, Lion Kayiol Jigh-Jigh; District Assistant Secretary and President of Akure Professional Lions Club, Lion Busayomi Akinyosoye, NLCF.

Lion Akinola Falusi, NLCF began his tenure on 1st July, 2024 and will serve-out the tenure on 30th June, 2025 in accordance with Lions traditions.
