Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of members of the Ondo State Sports Council as part of efforts to reposition sports development in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Saturday.
Those appointed are Oladimeji Abimbola, who will serve as Chairman, while Babatunde Martins Boriwa and Ibiloye Matthew Abiodun were appointed as members.
According to the statement, the appointment takes immediate effect.
The Governor urged the newly appointed council members to deploy their experience and expertise towards advancing sports development in Ondo State.
Aiyedatiwa also charged them to promote grassroots participation and nurture sporting talents capable of achieving excellence and bringing greater recognition to the state.
The appointment is part of the administration’s broader commitment to strengthening the sports sector and creating opportunities for athletes and young people across the state.
The Governor wished the new members success in their new responsibilities and urged them to work towards achieving the administration’s vision for sports development in Ondo State.
