Aiyedatiwa appoints Segun Odusanya as new Ondo Head of Service

Following the retirement of Mr. Bayo Philips from the Ondo State Public Service, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has appointed Chief Segun Odusanya as the new Head of Service, with effect from June 6, 2026.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service, Mr. Philips, for his dedication and contributions to the development of Ondo State during his years in service. He also wished him success in his future endeavours.

The Governor charged the new Head of Service to deploy his vast administrative experience and professional expertise towards strengthening the state’s public service and advancing the objectives of the OUR EASE administration.

Chief Odusanya, who hails from Ile-Oluji, was born on February 6, 1967, to the family of the late Venerable and Mrs. Emmanuel Odusanya. He attended St. Peter’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and Gboluji Anglican Grammar School before proceeding to Obafemi Awolowo University, then the University of Ife, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture in 1989.

He later earned a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the same institution in 1992 and subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ado-Ekiti in 2000.

Odusanya joined the Ondo State Public Service in September 1995 and has served in various ministries and government agencies. In 2019, he was appointed Permanent Secretary and has since held key positions in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Ondo State Civil Service Commission, and the Ministry of Transport.

Until his latest appointment, he served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and was also the Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State.

A seasoned administrator, Chief Odusanya is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (FCIPM), the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (FCIPAN), and the Chartered Institute of Local Government Administration (FCLA).

He is married to Lady Oluwatoyin Odusanya, and the union is blessed with three children.
