The Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Grassroots Mobilisation, Comrade Victor Omodara, has commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for the flag-off of the construction of the Ọba Adesida Flyover in Akure, describing the project as a landmark development that will leave a lasting legacy in the state.
Omodara, who spoke in a statement, congratulated the governor on what he described as a bold step towards transforming Akure into a modern, functional and investment-friendly state capital.
He said the flyover project was more than an infrastructure development, noting that it represented a clear demonstration of the Aiyedatiwa administration’s commitment to urban renewal, improved mobility and sustainable development.
According to him, the project could not have come at a better time, considering the rapid expansion of Akure in population, commercial activities and vehicular movement, which has placed increasing pressure on the city’s road infrastructure.
He said the Ọba Adesida Flyover would enhance traffic flow, reduce congestion and travel time, improve road safety and strengthen connectivity across major parts of the state capital.
Beyond easing traffic, Omodara noted that the project would also contribute to the transformation of Akure’s cityscape and increase the city’s attractiveness to investors, businesses, visitors and residents.
He added that a modern and functional state capital would positively reflect the development aspirations of the entire state and create direct and indirect economic opportunities for the people.
Omodara said history would remember the Aiyedatiwa administration for taking what he described as a bold developmental step, stressing that governance should be measured by tangible projects capable of serving present and future generations.
“Developmental governance is not about roaring noises or empty promises, but about conceiving and implementing projects that will serve generations yet unborn,” he said.
The governor’s aide expressed appreciation to Aiyedatiwa for the initiative and prayed for wisdom, strength and resources for the successful completion of the project and the execution of more transformative projects across the state.
“Congratulations, Your Excellency. Ondo State is moving forward. Akure city is rising. The legacy is taking shape,” Omodara said.
