Court nullifies appointment of Akoko Monarch

An Ondo State High Court sitting in Oka-Akoko, in Akoko South West Local Government Area of the State, on Monday nullified the appointment of Oba. Jolade Akande as the Asin of Oka-odo.

Recalled that in the originating summons filed in 2022 by Oba (Dr) Yussuf Adebori Adeleye OON, the Olubaka of Oka-Akoko, he challenged the appointment and elevation of Oba Jolade Akande by the Ondo State Government.

In his ruling, Justice J.O. Abe, nullified the appointment and elevation of Asin stool to recognized chieftaincy.

While reacting to the judgment in a telephone interview, counsel to Oba Akande, Barr. Segun Ogodo, assured that the judgement would be appealed at the court.

He briefly said “the court is extremely pervert, and we are going to appeal against it.

When asked about the disposition of residents on judgement, he said “they have all rejected judgment, we are appealing against it.
