Deji of Akure begins annual Ulefunta leave Wednesday

The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Land, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR will on Wednesday 16th September, 2026 proceed on his annual Traditional Ulefunta leave.

2. The annual leave is expected to last for a period of seven days beginning from Wednesday 16th September, 2026 till Tuesday 22nd September, 2026.

3. It is important to notify the public and residents that beating of drum is *PROHIBITED* within the Akure main town throughout the seven days.

4. Additionally, All roads leading to the Deji’s palace will be closed to commuters during the Ulefunta Period. All road users along this area are therefore enjoined to make use of the adjoining routes.

5. All markets, shops and stalls around the Deji’s Palace will remain closed for the Ulefunta Period.

6. Residents are advised to comply with this directive as they go about their lawful duties without any fear throughout the period of the seclusion which the Deji will use to pray and seek the good and peace of Akure land, Ondo State and Nigeria at large.
