Ondo State Govenor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday inaugurated the Renewed Hope Ambassadors across the 18 local government areas of the state, describing the initiative as a structured grassroots mobilisation platform aimed at deepening political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade in Akure, marked what the governor described as a transition from vision to coordinated political action, anchored on discipline, organisation and effective communication.

Governor Aiyedatiwa said the ambassadors would serve as frontline mobilisers tasked with disseminating the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to communities, wards and households across the state.

According to him, the initiative is not symbolic but operational, designed to build a functional grassroots network capable of translating support into electoral success.

“Mobilisation is not noise-making but a structured process that requires clarity, discipline and consistency,” the governor said, charging the coordinators to carry out their assignments with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

He urged them to engage citizens in relatable language, including local dialects, while promoting unity, loyalty and service.

The governor reaffirmed the state’s alignment with the Federal Government’s development agenda, noting that ongoing reforms in infrastructure, agriculture, tourism and the blue economy were already yielding results and strengthening investor confidence.

He added that synergy between federal and state governments remained critical to achieving sustainable development and consolidating the gains of ongoing reforms.

Governor Aiyedatiwa maintained that the ultimate goal of the mobilisation effort was to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, stressing that the country must not “go back to Egypt.”

In his address, the Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Hope Uzodinma, said the initiative was a strategic national project aimed at consolidating grassroots support for the President.

Represented by the South-West Coordinator of the group, Senator Adebayo Clement Adeyeye, Uzodinma said President Tinubu’s policies had rescued Nigeria from economic decline and set the country on the path of stability and growth.

He noted that reforms introduced by the administration had improved revenue generation, increased federal allocations to states and ensured the payment of salaries and pensions, while also recording progress in the education sector.

Uzodinma expressed confidence that the President would secure a decisive victory in the 2027 elections, urging members of the platform to intensify mobilisation efforts across all political units.

Also speaking, the Ondo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, described the event as a demonstration of the party’s strength and unity in the state.

He said the large turnout of stakeholders from across the 18 local government areas signified growing support for both the governor and the President, expressing confidence that the party would deliver massive votes in the next general election.

Kolawole dismissed opposition efforts as distractions, insisting that the APC remained focused and well-positioned under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.

In his welcome address, the Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, said the initiative was designed to strengthen engagement between the government and citizens while countering misinformation about public policies.

He explained that the structure operates across local governments and wards, using town hall meetings, roadshows and stakeholder engagements to promote awareness and feedback.

Olabimtan commended the governor for his support, noting that the platform would enhance communication of government programmes and foster greater public participation.

Dignitaries at the event included the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji; Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa; members of the State Executive Council; lawmakers; local government chairmen; traditional rulers; religious leaders; and party stakeholders.
