Gov Aiyedatiwa presents official vehicles to law commission members

By Tolulope Eniola

Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Monday, presented official vehicles to members of the State Law Commission as part of efforts to enhance their mobility and improve the discharge of their responsibilities.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, held at the Governor’s office, Aiyedatiwa said the vehicles were not a privilege but a statutory entitlement designed to enable the commission members to effectively carry out their mandate.

The governor noted that the nature of the commission’s assignment requires extensive movement across the state for studies, consultations, and inquiries on issues requiring legal reforms.

According to him, the provision of official vehicles would ensure that members are not hindered by transportation challenges, especially during the rainy season.

“These vehicles are being provided to make your work easier and to ensure you can move around comfortably in the course of carrying out your duties. As we approach the rainy season, there should be no excuse for not visiting locations where studies and inquiries are required,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of the commission’s role in reviewing and reforming obsolete laws in the state, adding that government remains committed to supporting the body in achieving its objectives.

He described the vehicles as an incentive aimed at motivating members to deliver on their mandate, expressing confidence in their ability to justify the trust reposed in them.

“I believe you are all worthy of your appointments and capable of delivering on your responsibilities. This support is intended to further motivate you to perform effectively,” the governor added.

The governor also offered prayers for the safety of the commission members and the durability of the vehicles, asking for divine protection against accidents and other unforeseen challenges while carrying out official assignments.

He congratulated the members once again and urged them to remain committed to advancing legal reforms that would contribute to the development and progress of Ondo State.
