NULGE praises Gov Aiyedatiwa for enhancing welfare of Council administrators

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees in Ondo State has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving a consolidated Grade Level 17 salary structure and related benefits for Heads of Local Government Administration across the state.

The union’s State President, Comrade Fredrick Gbenga Akinrinlola, gave the commendation on Wednesday while addressing journalists at the NULGE Secretariat in Akure.

Akinrinlola described the approval as a major milestone in the state’s local government administration, noting that it further reinforces the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of workers at the grassroots level.

He recalled that Aiyedatiwa had in November 2024 approved Grade Level 17 status for all Heads of Local Government Administration, adding that the latest decision builds on that intervention and demonstrates fairness and recognition for the affected officers.

According to him, the consolidated salary structure, which takes effect from June 1, 2026, is in line with the approved Scheme of Service for Local Government Administration in Nigeria.

The NULGE leader said the approval reflects the administration’s dedication to equity and the welfare of public servants who play critical roles in governance and service delivery at the local level.

He added that the development would boost the morale of serving officers and reassure retirees that their contributions to public service remain valued and appreciated.

The union expressed gratitude to the governor for the gesture and urged workers and residents of the state to continue supporting his administration’s efforts aimed at strengthening governance and accelerating development across Ondo State.
