NURTW: Ogunleye backs Ondo govt., warns against breach of peace

The Ondo State Special Adviser (S.A) on transport to Governor Akeredolu, Barr.Tobi Ogunleye Esq. has warned against any plan to cause breach of peace to the public by the members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers whose operations had been earlier suspended in the State.
Ogunleye gave the warning in an interview with journalists in his office in Akure the state capital.
According to him,the state government set up Parks Management Committee in the State to oversee the activities of NURTW in view of the crises occasioned by some of their activities which have become a threat to public peace and safety .
Ogunleye said that, no matter how powerful a Tenant or a Licencee may appeared to be, can never outgrown his or her Landlord but enjoys the tenancy subject to absolute obedience to the terms and conditions of the Tenancy Agreement with the Landlord.
“The special adviser who stressed the reversionary rights of the Landlord over the property at all time reserved and preserveed either expressly or impliedly are not negotiable said It is ultra vires the NURTW Leaders ,Members and such other body or groups of bodies at any level within and without Ondo State to be threatening fire and brimstone on the lawful Occupiers,Operators and Managers of all the Motor Parks across the State. “
He called the security agency in the State to be alert and arrest anyone caught fomenting trouble in any park within the State and treated like a common criminal.
According to Barr Ogunleye, the purported NURTW is just like any other ordinary Trade Union or Association in the State whose rights and claims are limited and restricted to their respective Constitution, also their scope of operations must be within ambit of the Law of the land.
“all Motor Parks in Ondo State, safe and expect the government approved Private Parts for the commercial transport operators lawfully belong to the state government as the bona fide Landlord,all occupiers of the State own Parks are either Tenants or Licencees of the State Government. “
The Special adviser who noted that some of the self-acclaimed Committee Members of the State NURTW forcefully opened the Igoba branch Office where any activity, to all intents and purposes, remain part of the operations suspended by Government said It shall not be acceptable for anybody whatsoever to be hide under the guise of being a registered Union to attempt to build an unlawful and unwholesome Cartel of hoodlums within the State.
According to him It is the commitment of the present Administration under the leadership of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, to ensure protection of lives and property,also any attempt by any group to disrupt the peace that currently enjoy in the State shall be prosecuted.
Ogunleye who later call on the security operatives in the state to mount all strategic points and arrest anyone parading himself as NURTW member in Motor Parks across the state urged members of the public to go about doing their daily activities as usual.
