Ondo EXCO approves appointment of new Olofun of Irele

The Ondo State Government has approved the appointment of Samuel Odimayo as the new Olofun of Irele in Irele Local Government Area.

The decision was taken at the State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting presided over by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on Tuesday.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, said the appointment followed sustained demands from the Irele community for the installation of a traditional ruler.

He said the approval was aimed at strengthening traditional leadership and stabilising governance within the area.
