We’ll Continue To Suport AAUA To Be Best State University In Nigeria – Ondo Assembly

Ondo State House of Assembly has pledged to continue to support Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko to be the best State University in Nigeria.

The Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Institution, Hon. Chris Ayebusiwa made this pledge while paying a familiarization visit to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, alongside other committee members.

Ayebusiwa assured the institution that the committee is a partner in progress with the institution, adding that education is not something to joke with.

He also commended the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Olugbenga Ige for his efforts in making sure that the school is ranked the best state university in Nigeria.

Other members promised the institution that it will witness a tremendous change in terms of finance, as the committee would stand by it to make it dream come true.

Earlier in his address, the Vice Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Prof. Olugbenga Ige revealed that the school is doing well and the students are happy. He added that the institution is currently the best State University in Nigeria.

According to him, all the courses available in the institution are accredited by the National University Commission, stressing that 32 programs would be accredited soon and each would have at least, 3 professors.

While noting that the institution is preparing to have Faculty of computing and communication studies and faculty of engineering, there are presently eight faculties in the institution.

He further stressed that the institution had just signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Local Government service commission to train their staff at Local government training school in Itaogbolu in Akure North local government area of Ondo State as well as Public Service training institute, Ilara Mokin in Ifedore local government area of Ondo State to train their staff also.

He, however, pleaded for more assistance from the House of Assembly, especially in the area of funding.
