Why youths must embrace farming – Ondo Speaker

The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji has called on the youths in the State to embrace agriculture as such would go a long way in combating the current food crisis in Nigeria.

The Speaker made the call while playing host to Ondo Ekinmogun Youth Congress (OEYC)in his office on Monday.

Oladiji, who lamented the rate at which people have abandoned farming, urged the youth to key into the various programmes put in place by the state government aimed at eradicating hunger.

While appreciating them for their steadfastness and unwavering support to their traditional rulers,he stressed the need to sustain good relationship as such would enhance unity and harmony.

Identifying with the youth over their pivotal role in nation building,the Speaker assured them of his support at all times in order to achieve a common goal.

Speaking earlier, the President of Ondo Ekinmogun Youth,Engr.Kayode Folajogun appreciated the Speaker for his various contributions to the development of Ondo Kingdom.

Describing him as a God_fearing and grassroot politician who has put smiles on the faces of individuals through numerous empowerment programmes,Folajogun assured that the youth would continue to contribute meaningfully to the growth and overall development of their society.
