AAUA appoints Babalola as Sixth Substantive Registrar

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, has appointed Dr. Grace Olubunmi Babalola as its sixth substantive Registrar.

The appointment was approved by the institution’s Governing Council at an emergency meeting held on Monday, March 16, 2026, and took effect from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, for a tenure of five years.

Dr. Babalola, a seasoned administrator and legal practitioner, joined the services of AAUA in 2009 as a Senior Assistant Registrar and Head of the Legal Unit.

Over the years, she has held several key positions within the university, including Acting Development Officer (Endowment), Principal Assistant Registrar in the Vice Chancellor’s Office and Deputy Registrar in charge of Council Affairs and Academic Affairs. Until her appointment, she served as Deputy Registrar in the Academic Affairs Division.

A distinguished scholar, she obtained her law degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, graduating as the best student in the Faculty of Law in 1999.

She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2001 after attending the Nigerian Law School, Abuja. She also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Laws (LLM), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

Beyond administration, Dr. Babalola has contributed to academia as a part-time lecturer since 2019 and has participated in several international conferences and seminars across the United Kingdom and South Africa.

She has published in reputable academic journals and is the author of three forthcoming books focusing on education law, university leadership, and ethical governance.

She is a member and fellow of several professional bodies and has received numerous awards and commendations for her outstanding service, including recognitions from the university’s Senate, Governing Council, and the Vice Chancellor.

Dr. Babalola succeeds Dr. Olugbenga Arajulu, whose tenure ended on April 1, 2026. Her appointment is expected to further enhance administrative efficiency and strengthen institutional development at the university.
