The Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association has entered into a partnership with United Nigeria Airlines, adopting the carrier as its official airline for members’ business travels.
The agreement was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday at the airline’s office, as part of efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce travel-related costs for traders operating under the association.
The President of the association, Comrade Chinedu Ukatu, who spoke at the event, described the deal as a strategic move aimed at strengthening business operations among members.
He said, “The Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association and United Nigeria Airlines are today officially signing an MOU adopting the airline as our official partner and carrier. This is a remarkable day for us as traders, and it is a symbiotic relationship that will benefit both parties.”
Ukatu noted that the decision to partner with the airline was influenced by its emphasis on safety and its track record in the aviation sector, adding that the collaboration would facilitate smoother business activities for members who frequently travel across the country.
The NPMA delegation at the ceremony included Chief Anthony Okeke, the General Secretary, and Mr Marcel Ozonweke, the Public Relations Officer 2 of the association.
Although details of the agreement were not disclosed, findings indicated that the airline is positioning itself to tap into the large market base of traders under the association, many of whom rely heavily on air travel for their businesses.
The airline’s management expressed optimism about the partnership, noting that the agreement would deepen its relationship with customers and expand its reach within the business community.
The partnership is expected to open up new opportunities for both parties, particularly in improving logistics and fostering business growth across different markets in the country.
