Aiyedatiwa’s CPS honours two NAWOJ members for dedication

…As association marks first anniversary, vows to sustain transparent leadership

…Fasua commends female journalists’ professionalism

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Ondo State Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, has honoured two members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State chapter, for their outstanding commitment and contributions to the growth of the association.

The award presentation formed part of activities marking the first anniversary of the current NAWOJ executive, where members reviewed the association’s progress over the past year and renewed their commitment to advancing the welfare of women journalists.

Adeniyan, who presented the awards, appreciated NAWOJ members for their support for his office and the Ondo State Government, describing the relationship as mutually beneficial.

He said although there was still room for improvement, the existing partnership had provided a strong foundation for deeper collaboration in the future.

The CPS commended members for their dedication to journalism and urged them to continue promoting responsible and development-driven reporting.

The Chairman of the Ondo State Publishing and Printing Corporation (OSPPC), Mr Kayode Fasua, also praised female journalists for their professionalism and contributions to the media industry.

Fasua said women journalists had distinguished themselves through quality reporting and commitment to ethical journalism, urging them to remain focused despite the challenges of the profession.

He congratulated the NAWOJ executive on its first year in office, expressing confidence in its ability to continue providing purposeful leadership for the association.

Earlier, the NAWOJ State Chairperson, Mrs Tola Gbadamosi, described the past year as a period of learning, service and commitment to the advancement of the association.

She thanked members for their confidence, support and cooperation, noting that their contributions had helped the executive achieve its goals.

Gbadamosi said the association had recorded progress through various initiatives, improved participation among members and programmes aimed at promoting its objectives.

While acknowledging existing challenges, she assured members that the executive would continue to pursue transparent, inclusive and purposeful leadership.

“As we enter another year, we will consolidate our gains, address outstanding challenges and work together to move the association to greater heights,” she said.

The award recipients were Bukola Bardi of the FRCN Chapel and Olayinka Ogunleye of the Digital Media Chapel.
